Portronics RMA Policy
Portronics warrants to the original purchaser that Portronics' Products are free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one year (1 year) from the date of original purchase. Portronics' obligation under this warranty is expressly limited to supplying replacement parts, repairing or replacing, at its sole option, any product which Portronics, in its sole judgment and discretion, determines to contain a defect; in materials or workmanship at the time of shipment from Portronics. This warranty does not include on-site service or removal and re-installation costs. This warranty is valid only on Portronics products and is subject to the limitations and exceptions listed below.
This limited warranty is exclusive, is only warranty, and is expressly in lieu of any other express or implied warranties. Portronics hereby disclaims any and all other warranties and warranties that may be implied by law, including, without limitation, the implied warranties of merchantability, and of fitness for a particular purpose or specified use. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Portronics and its subsidiaries shall not be responsible for and hereby disclaims all liability for any incidental or consequential damages incurred by you or any other person or entity however caused, whether by the negligence of Portronics or otherwise, including, but not limited to, any liability (i) for lost revenues, lost profits, loss of use, the cost of data recovery from hard disk drives, the value of data that cannot be recovered from hard disk drives, or any other commercial losses of any type; (ii) for injury to or death of any persons in connection with the products; and (iii) liability which you have to any other person, irrespective of whether such liabilities would otherwise arise from statute, negligence, contract, strict liability, or otherwise. All rights granted to you under this limited warranty are conditioned upon and shall only arise if they are exercised in the manner.
This warranty does not apply to: (i) cosmetic damage, such as scratches, nicks, stains and dents; (ii) consumable parts, such as batteries, unless product damage has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship; (iii) damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, water (in excess of specifications), flood, fire, or other acts of nature or external causes; (iv) damage caused by service performed by anyone who is not an authorized service provider of Portronics; or (v) damage to a product that has been modified or altered without the prior written permission of Portronics.
All returned material must have a valid Portronics RMA number. This number is necessary to ensure proper tracking and handling of returned material at the Support office. Do not return any hardware until an RMA is issued. Portronics reserves the right to refuse shipments that do not have an authorized RMA number. Refused shipments will be returned to the shipper via collect freight. The Toll Free number used to raise the complaint is 1800-103-4241
Dead on Arrival (DOA)
Hardware that is considered Dead on Arrival (DOA) can be replaced within the first seven (7) days from the Purchase Partner. The Purchase Partner can replace the product from his own stocks. Portronics will provide an expedited replacement to the Purchase Partner. If directly purchased, a new unit will be made available for shipment from Portronics facility within seven (7) business days of RMA issuance.
Non-Contracted/Out of Warranty
Additional requirements for units that are not currently under a maintenance contract or no longer get covered under warranty: Portronics will confirm the hardware failure and inform the customer about the repair quote or replacement quote.
Please do not return any hardware back to Portronics without a valid and authorized Return Material Authorization (RMA) number.
When requesting an RMA, please provide the following information:
• Product Model number/name of the defective hardware
• Product Serial number of the defective hardware if available & applicable
• Description of failure and troubleshooting performed to isolate cause
• Customer ship-to address
• Contact name
• Contact phone and e-mail
Obtaining Warranty Service
If you wish to make a claim under this Limited Warranty with respect to a Portronics Product, please log on to www.portronics.com/warranty, complete the form there-in and provide the following information in the 'Message' field:
• Product SKU
• Purchase date
• Brief description of the problem. (300-450 characters)
All of the above information is required before a warranty claim will be accepted. Once Portronics validates your claim, we will issue you an RMA number and shipping information from email@example.com. In no event will Portronics accept any shipment that is sent C.O.D.
Please note that under no circumstance will Portronics accept returned Portronics Products in packages that do not carry an RMA number. Your RMA number must be clearly marked in bold on the outside of the package containing your returned Portronics Product.
RETURNING A PORTRONICS PRODUCT WITHOUT AN RMA NUMBER WAIVES ALL OF PORTRONICS'S RESPONSIBILITIES UNDER THE LIMITED WARRANTY, EVEN IF PROOF OF DELIVERY IS AVAILABLE, DUE TO OUR INABILITY TO MATCH YOUR PURCHASE WITH THE RETURNED PORTRONICS PRODUCT.
IF YOU CHOOSE TO SEND US A PACKAGE WITHOUT THE RMA NUMBER CLEARLY MARKED ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE PACKAGE, YOU UNDERSTAND AND ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU WILL LOSE BOTH THE PORTRONICS PRODUCT(S) IN THE PACKAGE AS WELL AS ANY APPLICABLE REMEDY YOU WOULD HAVE RECEIVED UNDER THE LIMITED WARRANTY.
EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY SET FORTH ABOVE IN THIS LIMITED PRODUCT WARRANTY SECTION, EACH PORTRONICS PRODUCT IS PROVIDED SOLELY ON AN "AS IS" BASIS AND PORTRONICS MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PORTRONICS SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS AND EXCLUDES ANY AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF NON-INFRINGEMENT, QUIET ENJOYMENT, MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IF SUCH DISCLAIMER OF ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY IS NOT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE DURATION OF ANY SUCH IMPLIED WARRANTY IS LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD OF THE LIMITED WARRANTY AS SET FORTH ABOVE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY MAY LAST, SO SUCH LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. IF APPLICABLE LAW SPECIFIES A MINIMUM WARRANTY PERIOD THAT IS LONGER THAN THE WARRANTY PERIOD SET FORTH IN THE LIMITED WARRANTY, THEN THE WARRANTY PERIOD FOR PORTRONICS PRODUCTS SUBJECT TO SUCH APPLICABLE LAW SHALL BE CONFORMED TO THE MINIMUM PERIOD SO REQUIRED. THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS WHICH VARY FROM JURISDICTION TO JURISDICTION.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
IN NO EVENT, UNDER ANY CAUSE OF ACTION OF THEORY OF LIABILITY, SHALL PORTRONICS ITS DISTRIBUTORS OR SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OF ANY NATURE WHATSOEVER, ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE ANY PORTRONICS PRODUCT, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, PROPERTY DAMAGE, LOSS OF VALUE OF THE PORTRONICS PRODUCT OR ANY THIRD PARTY PRODUCTS THAT ARE USED IN OR WITH THE PORTRONICS PRODUCT, OR LOSS OF USE OF THE PORTRONICS PRODUCT OR ANY THIRD PARTY PRODUCTS THAT ARE USED IN OR WITH THE PORTRONICS PRODUCT, EVEN IF PORTRONICS HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, YOU UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT PORTRONICS HAS NO LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE OR DESTRUCTION TO CONSUMER ELECTRONICS DEVICES OR OTHER PERSONAL PROPERTY THAT ARE CONTAINED INSIDE OR OUTSIDE THE PORTRONICS PRODUCTS, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, LAPTOPS, CELLULAR PHONES, OR OTHER HANDHELD DEVICES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA CONTAINED IN THE FOREGOING DEVICES. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY DAMAGES THAT YOU MIGHT INCUR FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ALL DAMAGES REFERENCED HEREIN AND ALL DIRECT OR GENERAL DAMAGES IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE) OR OTHERWISE), THE ENTIRE AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF PORTRONICS AND ANY OF ITS DISTRIBUTORS AND/OR SUPPLIERS SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT ACTUALLY PAID BY YOU FOR THE PORTRONICS PRODUCT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY. SOME STATES AND/OR JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. THE LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY SET FORTH ABOVE SHALL APPLY TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.
